The magic of Schubert, Schumann and Liszt

One of the world’s most profound musicians, Arcadi Volodos, has, already for 25 years, an indisputable place among the absolute top piano-poets.

Volodos enchants his listeners; it’s like attending a spiritual worship service. The newspaper Trouw described his otherworldly gifts with these words: “His unique technique allows him to bring out, from the most complicated passages, vocal sounds that no one else can realize or even notices.”

  • Philharmonic Hall

The Philharmonic Hall was inaugurated in 1887. Since the inauguration, with the help of Eugène Ysaÿe, it has seen the greatest artists of its time walk its halls: from Gustav Mahler (who conducted his 2nd Symphony there) to Olivier Messiaen, Iannis Xenakis, Luciano Berio, Philippe Boesmans or Pascal Dusapin. Since September 2000 it is wholly managed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, which gives its own symphonic concerts there, as well as hosting chamber music, world music or early music performances. The hall has a capacity of 1.129 seats.
