Thrilling passion in tribute to Rachmaninov
The Russian star pianist Evgeny Kissin was last heard in a solo performance in the Netherlands in June 2018. In June 2023 he will return with a solo recital, dedicated to Rachmaninov whose 150th birth anniversary will be commemorated in 2023. Exclusively in AMARE in The Hague!
Kissin also played Rachmaninov in 2018: “Evgeny Kissin plays solo at a lonely height,” Wenneke Savenije put above her review. She very aptly described the experience of attending a Kissin recital: “The unique intensity with which the former prodigy Evgeny Kissin managed to elicit magisterial sounds from the grand piano at the final concert was literally unheard of and, as far as I am concerned, the summit of all summits. What architectural clarity and flawless pianistic aptitude! What incredible emotional intensity, musical depth and spiritual veracity resounded in every note he played.”
A tribute to one of the greatest pianists by one of the greatest pianists. An evening any piano lover should not miss.
