Master pianists in the intimite Nieuwe Kerk
At the Nieuwe Kerk on Spui, World Master Pianists, in collaboration with Amare, presents a series of intimate piano recitals, offering a close-up musical experience. Four internationally acclaimed pianists take their place at a centrally positioned grand piano, surrounded by the audience.
The young South Korean pianist Saehyun Kim makes his Dutch debut in this intimate setting. At just eighteen years of age, he already performs on the international stage, with a playing style marked by poise, focus, and a natural balance between power and refinement. In works by Schubert and Chopin, he unfolds a clear and compelling musical narrative.
The series also welcomes master pianist Marc-André Hamelin, who has been among the world’s foremost pianists for decades. His playing unites phenomenal technique with poetry and depth, with virtuosity entirely in the service of expression. In a rich and contrasting programme, he presents a recital of exceptional intensity.
The line-up is completed by Dutch pianist Nicola Meeuwsen, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, alongside Severin von Eckhardstein, who presents a distinctive programme dedicated to Nicolai Medtner.
